Jones + Ospina Films combines the talents of husband and husband team Oliver (cap) and Santiago (big smile), bringing stories to life from pitch through to delivery. We specialise in documentary filmmaking and branded video content and are available for assignments and projects internationally, both as a team or individually. 

 

With more than 10 years of experience in factual content and an award-winning, BAFTA nominated journalist background, Oliver is a versatile filmmaker and producer with fantastic story sense. From Nashville drag queens fighting for their careers, to the heartbreaking stories of fentanyl addicts near Seattle, and even trekking for majestic bison in the Carpathian Mountains, Oliver's covered a lot of ground and A LOT of stories... and he loves it! Born in Manchester, UK, he always brings both a hard graft attitude and a good sense of humour to every job.

Santiago's expertise as a trained anthropologist makes him a knowledgeable and rigorous researcher. Born in a "barrio popular" in Bogota, Colombia, he can easily connect with people from diverse backgrounds and understand different perspectives. He has a curious nature, but he's also thorough, methodical and organised. He's quick to learn and adapt to challenging environments, including on set.

Our combined experience includes working for traditional broadcasters like the BBC and ITV in the United Kingdom and big brands such as the Olympics and Panasonic across Latin America. But we also deliver smaller projects for companies just starting out and are looking forward to future online, short documentary projects. ​

Our focus is helping international productions of any kind in Latin America and Oliver can also provide support to international news, current affairs and educational productions in the United States.

 

We are based in Mexico City, with great access across the American continent. We have accommodation available in Bogotá and Washington D.C. too. Occasionally, we're in Europe, either in Spain or the UK.  Big patch! - I know, but we love to travel and are happy to do so for your production. Both fluent in English and Spanish, we are able to translate and produce for foreign crews on the ground.
